Jason has over 20 years of martial arts experience. Currently opening a new Academy in his hometown of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Field Martial Arts is the second blue print of the established Inyodo Academy in Vail, Colorado. Prior to establishing Inyodo in Colorado, Jason trained and taught in Los Angeles, California under renowned masters Jun Chong and Phillip Rhee. A diligent student of the martial arts, training daily in Karate, Kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Jason holds a 3rd degree Black Belt in Karate, a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and is a twenty-year veteran of professional kickboxing.
In 2006, Jason starred in the mixed martial art feature film “Maximum Cage Fighting”. The filming took place in Brazil and Los Angeles. In the film are martial art legends Renzo Gracie, Higan Machado, Gerson Sanginitto, Jun Chong and the Dog Brothers.
In 2005, Jason teamed up with his professor Carlos Carlvaho of Bahia, Brazil, a Luis Carlos Manimal black belt and created the Vail Competition Team. Together they built a strong reputation within the sport fighting community, coaching well known fighters such as Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, Leonard Garcia, Goyito Perez, Tom "Kong" Watson, Kyle Noke and Michelle "karate hottie" Waterson to name a few and hosting camps of other well-known fighters such as Matt Brown and Justin Gaethje. Most recently Jason has enjoyed coaching in the WEC, ONE Championships and in the UFC.
Spearheading 5 Athletic Boxing Commissioned MMA events in Vail, Colorado brought further exposure to Inyodo as Jason brought top talents into the local Vail scene. Headliners of these cards include Ben Henderson, Brandon Thatch, Tyler Toner and Rocky Johnson. Continuing his interest in mixed martial arts, Jason has been a television commentator for the mixed martial art league “Ring of Fire” on HDNET.
Outside of competitive martial arts, Jason can be found at the studio teaching classes or stretching on the mat. Jason says training is not so much about the belt you wear but the mindset you obtain, the discipline you command, and the respect that you give.
Instructor Kim Field began training in martial arts in 1980 at age 5, studying Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan, a.k.a. Soo Bahk Do. She continued to study Tang Soo Do for 18 years, earning several forms and sparring national titles, as well as opening her first martial arts studio in Newport, Rhode Island with her father. Kim eventually moved to Los Angeles and studied and taught for Jun Chong Tae Kwon Do and the World United Martial Arts Organization. She is most fulfilled by the relationships she’s made and sustained with her students around the country. Kim is an inspiration to everyone at Inyodo studio. Her 28 years of experience, and genuine link to "old school training" (she remembers using oil cans for paddles - paddles weren't invented yet) offers Inyodo the true essence of a Master. At the ripe old age of 33 Miss Kim sets the standard for dedicated martial artists.

BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU is a physical chess match. Literally translated "the gentle art" is a patient art promoting the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger individual by using leverage. Achieving a dominant position on the ground is one of the hallmarks of the style and the system of maneuvering and manipulation can be likened to kinetic chess with the body of the practitioners. Our Jiu-Jitsu program is a developmental program following the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation belt system. Classes are technique driven, emphasizing the "gentle art" with the mindset of sharing the roll.
Our Academy is an affiliate of Luis Carlos “Manimal” under professor Carlos Carvalho.
Our kid’s program is a unique, structured curriculum designed for children ages 3.5 to 12 years old. It is a developmental curriculum built upon Karate and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu aligned with a traditional belt system. The program is designed to improve physical capabilities and create personal confidence.
The combination of standup striking (karate) and ground defense (Jiu-jitsu) represents a balanced approach to self-defense (Inyodo). Our kid’s program is characterized by repetitive commands, systemized drilling and a class structure that rewards listening, focus and hard work. Encouraging fun while working hard is a principle in our system, in every class, at every level, at every age!
